ARC Table
Work Desk
Brief: To design a work table for Studio Chisel by drawing inspiration from design details of the ARC series designed by Aditya Somway.
The project was completed as a fresher assignment given to me in my initial weeks at Studio Chisel to help me better understand their dynamics, processes, aesthetic preferences, target market, and manufacturing capabilities.
ARC chair by Aditya Somway
The three-legged ARC chair was made using bentwood. The front legs of the chair are straight, stable pieces of wood that define a sense of stability to the design, while the back leg displays an elegant member of bentwood that gives the chair a sense of direction and an inventive, agreeable aesthetic.

The final table features two types of bentwood details, each taken and developed from the chair's back leg and armrest, to complement the ARC series while still bringing something new into the collection.
